About Glynne Anderson
Glynne Anderson is full time pet Behaviour Consultant providing a referral practice for vets whose patients present behavioral problems such as digging, chewing, incessant barking, fighting, biting and aggression etc. in dogs; feather plucking, compulsive disorders etc. Pet Psychologist in birds and spraying, fighting and over grooming etc. in cats. Exotic pets are included amongst her clients.Glynne is also a professional dog handler, holding many senior Champion titles in most disciplines in the competitive field of dogdom.

She is also founder and director of Canine Academy the largest private dog training school in Natal which is attended by approximately 1000 dogs, of all breeds, per year.
Glynne was the first South African to train hearing dogs for deaf in 1990. She selected 5 little strays from the Kloof SPCA with the support of Manager, Colin Petersen. The dogs were ready to be placed in working homes after only 3 weeks but unfortunately due to financial constraints the project was handed over to Ken Lord /Guide Dogs for the Blind in Gauteng.
In 1992 Glynne saw the need for shaping problematic behaviour in pets and pioneered a monthly, workshop for the veterinary profession (chaired by Dr. Steve Wimberly) which she hosted at her home for approximately 2 years until an understanding of this very new field was reached.
Glynne has also made her mark in the academic field having presented a paper on dog behaviour at the first International Conference on Veterinary Behavioural Medicine (1997) in the United Kingdom. She has also had an abstract on her research on Coprophagia accepted at the 31st international congress of the International Society of Applied Ethology (1997) held in Prague, Czech Republic.

Glynne is the first and only South African accredited full member of the internationally respected and prestigious association of behaviour consultants in the UK which has an international membership, most of whom are well known icons in the field of pet behaviour.
Glynne is also an accredited practising member of two professional South African companion animal behaviour organisations and holds a Certificate in Companion Animal Behaviour issued by the Onderstepoort Veterinary College, University of Pretoria, SA. She was subsequently appointed by Prof. Johannes Odendaal, Head of Ethology Department at Onderstepoort University, to answer behaviour queries on his behalf which led to her employment as online pet behaviour consultant to M-Web which enjoyed national and international exposure for many years.
After leaving school Glynne qualified as a Graphic Artist & Textile Designer but later decided to become a teacher. She then qualified as a High School teacher and Lectured for many years at ML Sultan and Durban Technicon. She now puts her teaching experience to good use with her popular Seminars, Workshops and Demonstrations on dog behaviour based on her vast experience in the field over the last 25 years.
Animal films
Glynne is a consultant to directors for commercials and films in the field of animal behaviour and on screen performance, determining parameters of animal performance. She is also a professional animal wrangler as well as animal sourcer for a large casting company based in KZN.
She is also a well known radio personality & hosted her own pet program, an award winning writer with pet behaviour columns, such as The Pet Shrink for The Mercury, The Pet Whisperer for The Natal Witness and writes a regular Question and Answer Pet Shrink column for the The Crest, contributes to popular magazines, is a celebrity cat judge, is hon. advisor to the local SPCA’s, appears on TV and is often called upon by the media, legal profession and law courts for her ‘expert’ comments and opinion.
Glynne is also an accredited Kennel Union of S.A. Working Trials Judge & Dog Aptitude Testing Judge.
Her passion is educating the public with the view to improving the welfare of her beloved animals.
