Christmas is looming again and many are planning for a holiday away from home. And while some lovely folk take their pets along with them, many unfortunately cannot do so for obvious reasons. You will need to decide how best to keep your pets safe and cared for if you are going away. Responsible options are either a reliable or professional house sitter, or boarding kennels. Congratulations on your new home… but what about your pets during the move? Please spare them a thought, because it is going to be an extremely traumatic time for them. You see, animals love routine as it makes them feel safe… “Yippee, Thursday today and the Pool man’s coming to make my day!” and, “I’m outta here- last Monday of the month… yuk, bath day!” or at 5am on Saturday morning, “Wake up, wake up, we’re going to be late for puppy school this afternoon”! Needless to say, moving house will greatly upset their day to day activities!
Hi
We have a 10 month old female tabby cat which is the life of my daughter’s life. She’s been inside the house until now as we are scared she will run away - the previous kitten disappeared when she was 3 months old - we think someone took her.
How do we go about letting her out and will she run away.
As I’ve been flooded with queries this week regarding inappropriate house soiling, I have chosen my favourite question to answer, in the hope that it will help with your own messy problems. Poor toilet training, being caught short, anointing furniture, marking territory, submissive, excitable or involuntary elimination are not included in this special exposè devoted to a darned right dirty insult from your pooch, in other words, Pee-mail.
Hi Glynne
Numerous dogs in our area have been poisoned so I have made a choice to leave our animals inside when we go out in the evenings. I am not gone all night but rather a couple of hours and make sure that our dogs have enough fresh air, light and water. I have being doing this for many years as they are all house trained and have their own basket/beds in which they sleep. Recently however I have been returning home to find that my boxer has left a number 2 on our bed covers. This behaviour has only started recently and I am not sure what to do or how to stop it?
