My maltese (female) is 11 years old and has never been sick. However, for the last 8 months or so she has been scratching all her hair off her body - she now only has hair on her little head. This vet says it’s an flea allergy - that one says it’s a food allergy, and so on. I try to keep her as flea free, as is possible - have tried a diet of just ostrich mince with bits of boiled potato - but NOTHING helps!!! PLEASE can you tell me what to do before she scratches her head clean of hair too. The sad part is that I don’t walk her anymore because people laugh at her or they want to know what type of infectious disease she has - I am sure she understands and feels very unhappy. We have a 10 month old female tabby cat which is the life of my daughter’s life. She’s been inside the house until now as we are scared she will run away - the previous kitten disappeared when she was 3 months old - we think someone took her.
How do we go about letting her out and will she run away.
I have a female kitten of about 10 months old, acquired from my local SPCA. She has a lovely nature & is usually very affectionate. Biting is her problem. When she cuddles on your lap, she begins to purr & relaxes, then suddenly bites your hand/leg/arm. At first it is quite gentle, but the pressure builds until it sometimes breaks the skin. I have tried to smack her gently, saying the word NO; I have tried blowing in her face; ignoring it; distraction; etc. Please advise what may be causing this behaviour & how to stop it.
My Boxer, Clay, keeps escaping from our property despite high walls and security gates. It seems he waits until dark before taking off to who knows where, but is usually back in the morning early, looking very guilty and sorry for himself. I’m afraid he is going to get hurt or killed, but I don’t know what to do. Please help. Continue Reading
