Did you know that nowadays it is quite common to give human medication to pets, regardless of well documented side effects? Sadly our precious pets are being medicated as an alternative to specialized help. And still obligatory castration seems the order of the day for every imaginable problem from destruction to house soiling! And when castration fails, Ritalin, Prozac or similar equivalents are used as a first choice of treatment. Hi 2 things I want to ask you. Firstly my cat has been diagnosed with FHIV he has lost a lot of weight which I obviously understand will happen as the virus is breaking down his immune system and he has diarrhea and occasionaly throws up all related to the illness, what i want to know is do you know what I could give him to build up his weight and boost his immune system. Again, he eats all day long but he needs something like an extra supplement??? (Ive tried some stuff for diarrhea from the vet but it doesnt seem to help…Can you help?

Brace yourself folks, ’tis the season to be itchy …. Flea time again! The warm, humid weather is here which is when winter woollies finally get packed away  and the jumpers come out of the closet in full force…sharpening up their chompers in preparation for a  hot, bumper season. Yes, time again when these little leapers dish out the cigars and rub their hands together in glee, because carpet loads of new babies are coming out of the woodwork and into the world en masse - all with one thing in mind …  to eat as fast and as much of our pets as possible in order to keep their nurseries bulging.

I have a 2 year old tortoiseshell cat with very long hair. She is from a very mix breed family. She has been nurtured and never leaves home, a very homely cat.
