This Q&A concerns a pet owner who is worried about the fact that her dog likes to eat raw vegetables. Is this normal, and is it healthy?

Question

My female minature doberman (She’s spayed) likes to eat raw vegetables. When ever I prepare food she begs for it. She loves onions, patatoes, tomatoes, cucumber so many to mention. Please tell me if it is unhealthy as she is getting fat since she’s spayed. The male is also starting to eat some of the veggies. We feed them tin food and pellets every day. These are my kids so every help I can get to let them stay in good health will be of a “Bonus”
Thanks for your advice inadvance.

Hi Adele
This is not normal…common yes, but not normal!
I believe your dogs are hungry. Why not feed them raw meat and raw bones… after all they are carnivores and it’s their natural diet. A little fat is good for them.
Google ‘Contaminated dog food’ and ‘Rawmeatybones’ which will shock you.
Kind regards
Glynne
