Here is some advice on bathing dogs when they have a fear of water, as well as how many rescue drops to give them in such cases.

Question

Dear Glynne,

About the Maltese that is afraid of a bath, I have an Albino Maltese (Hoener) and she is terrified of bathing. I bathed her on Saturday and today I have 3 scratch marks on my chest to show for it. You mentioned Rescue drops in the other letter for both the owner and pet. How many rescue drops can I give my Maltese?

Hi Rialine
Read the bottle for the correct dosage.
And don’t bath her … rather give her a good brushing every day which is far better for her.
If she rolls in something ugly, then you’ll have to bath her but make sure you always stay calm and there is warm water already in the bath.
Dogs are normally frightened by shouting owners or the noise of the shower.
Or try a grooming parlor – they are the experts and well worth not getting scratched.
Keep smiling.
Glynne

    Hi Carol
Give them a try … they can’t do any harm!
