This concerned owner is worried about her missing cat - is she gone forever or is just exploring the neighbourhood? Is it because of the recent house move?Â
Question
My one and a half year old female cat has gone missing, there is no sign of her. She was spayed at 6 months old, she has a brother that she was very devoted to. She seems to have just run off after breakfast on friday, we moved 3 months ago but we have checked our old house and they have not seen her there.
Is she just off exploring or am I right to be worried? Any suggestion on how to narrow down where she may be or coax her back?
Hi Amy
Yes you are right to be concerned about your missing cat.
However she may have decided she doesn’t like the present state of affairs so she could have packed her bags and moved in with another family who suited her better! It’s a cat thing you know.
Do keep checking your old house as well, because cats often, and cleverly, return to places familiar to them.
Then of course you could go the poster/reward advertising as well as check the local SPCA and vets. Oh, and don’t forget to look up all the tall trees in your garden and surrounds as she may well be hiding from the horrible world that has changed around her!
Good luck
