This pet owner is concerned about her little dog who gets bloated every time he eats or drinks. He has also seemingly lost the vision in both his eyes.  What is causing this?

Question

I have a dachshund who is approximately 9 years old. He eats only well-balanced pet pellets, and no bones or human food. For the past 6 weeks he has been bloating excessively every time he eats or drinks water. He is also lethargic and without energy, where in the past he was always the bossy one. We also now suspect that he has lost his vision in both eyes. He has been to the vet three times, and they have done basic blood tests and scans. He does not have any kind of tumor, his bloodwork seems normal except for a slightly elevated liver function, and he definitely does not have diabetes. Do you know of any other illness that may or may not link his bloating with his loss of vision?

Hi Esme
Take one of your so-called ‘well balanced pet pellets’ and drop it in a glass of water. Then watch and see what happens … the same as happens in your unfortunate bloated dog’s stomach.
I am not a vet but it doesn’t take a genius to suggest that processed stuff you are feeding your dog may be causing the gas!
Please visit a homeopathic vet who will advise changing his food to something he can digest … bearing in mind all dogs are carnivores.
Do your dog a favour and Google ‘rawmeatybones’ to read what open minded vets think about pellets, or as Dr. Lonsdale calls them, ‘junk food’.
It just may save your dogs life
