Brenda is searching for some information on raw foods and the advisability of feeding chicken bones to her dogs.
Question
Dear Glynne
Please give me more info on feeding ‘raw foods’. What does one feed, how much etc. Does it include ‘meat’ and veggies?? Can one give ‘petmince’ obtainable at most butcheries raw?
What are ‘walkie-talkies’ as regards chicken bones. I thought chicken bones were a ‘no-no’
Thanks - brought up in dry dogfood era.
Brenda
Hi Brenda
Petmince is obtainable at most butcheries and supermarkets at the cost of about R7.00. per kilo. So are Walkie Talkies which are chicken legs and heads – also about R7.00. per kilo. Yes, all are fed raw which is best.
It’s about time people started thinking for themselves and querying exorbitant prices, and the down side of highly processed pet food.
Please visit http://www.rawmeatybones.com and follow the links for all the information you will need. Also go to http://www.iamscruelty.com/index.asp to see the terrible experiments a well known dog food company conducts on live Beagles. It’s shocking.
Good for you

We’ve been feeding our dogs a raw food diet for nearly two years now, and they’re thriving!
We don’t like all the ash and other rubbish manufacturers add to dried food, so we decided to go the raw food route, especially as one of our dogs has a chronic skin condition. I can’t say his skin is any better, but even our vet has had to admit that they look fantastically healthy.
We feed them chicken necks, occasionally (uncooked) pets’ mince, and sometimes chicken pieces (including thighs and legs), which they love.
