Janine’s maltese is pregnant - she needs more information on how to correctly care for her dog and the puppies on the way.

Question

My 3 yr old maltese poodle has been impregnated by our 1 yr jack russell. My question is…. what do i do on the day that she gives birth? Do i leave her? Do i seperate the maltese & jr before her due date? Do i make a nice little bed for her? Do i watch over her like a hawk? And once all the pups are born do i leave mother and pups inside and dad outside? I am clueless, plse help!!

You should never have allowed your little dog to get pregnant in the first place. It was irresponsible of you to add more puppies to this planet which is already over crowded with unwanted dogs – thousands being humanely killed every week because they cannot find homes.
However now the damage is done, and you are ‘clueless’ by your own admission, your little dog and her puppies have a very small chance of survival unless you get specialized help from your vet immediately.
Do not waste a moment.
