How can Colleen treat her dog’s skin excema? Glynne advises trying a fresh food diet and a homoeopathic vet.

Question:

Dear Glynne

Hi, I’ve also just come onto your site, which was forwarded to me by my brother in JHB.
We have a Pekinese Toy pom, female, 6 years old. Has a skin excema, which is red and inflamed, loses her hair under the chin, and the excema is also in the ears and under the paws. She is permanently de-flead. I have taken her to a vet and the 1st visit costs R1200.
We cannot afford this amount every month, and would please like to know how to treat my dog’s excema.

Thanking you.

Colleen Louw

Hi Colleen
Please know I am not a vet.
However if you are paying a vet large sums of money and are getting nowhere, it occurs to me you should try a homoeopathic vet who will treat the cause of the trouble and not the symptom. In other words the skin excema is the symptom, perhaps from an allergy, which could easily be caused by the food you are feeding your little dog.

Many dogs are allergic to processed food and thrive on organic, fresh food which does not contain a vast amount of chemicals, often the source of many irritations and health problems.
Please Google ‘rawmeatybones’ for a natural food site, although there are many hundreds more.
If you are in the Durban area, do contact Dr. Jane Fraser who is both a regular vet and a homoeopathic vet on 031 2614847
Good luck
Glynne
