Gill needs Glynne’s advice on getting rid of moles that are causing her two dogs to destroy her garden.

Question:

Hello Glynne
Please have you any ideas how to persuade moles that our garden is not their home? My two dogs have great fun excavating my front lawn looking for them!
Thanks
Gill

Hi Gillian

Using any poison to get rid of moles is extremely dangerous for your dogs so don’t be tempted.
You may try flooding them out with a hose pipe or even smoking them out. I’ve also heard a plastic bottle placed in the mole hole to catch the wind makes a mole unfriendly sound which makes them pack their suitcases and head for the hills.

However, why not focus on the cause of the problem which is that your dogs are frustrated or they would chill out and go to sleep.
Huge raw, juicy, bones will override the thrill of the chase and keep their minds off relandscaping your garden.
And if that doesn’t appeal to you, how about a set of four booties per dog?
