Diane would like some advice from Glynne on the correct diet to feed her cats, in order to try and stop them from catching and hunting birds.
Question:
Dear Glynne,
Thank you for your input re the hunting of birds by our cats…you suggest a good diet, now I would appreciate it if you could let me know the correct diet for my two cats. I feed them cat biscuits, and alternatively tuna out of the can, twice a week. I have been told that too much fish is not good for them, and would appreciate your input on this subject.
Also, my previous cat was bropught up from a kitten and he did not chase birds because he was taught not to, but my two adopted cats like to stalk birds, although they are lazy in their chasing of the birds. I have tried to tell them that I do not like it, but they contintue to do their own thing. Thanks very much, Diane
Hi Diane
As cats are true carnivores, feed them what mini lions would eat.
I agree - too much tinned food can be poisonous as the cat has a very sensitive digestion system. A variation of fresh white meat, red meat, raw bone, fish, offal and eggs etc is a perfect diet in my opinion, and contains all the natural vitamins in the food content - and is not a formula sprayed onto the food when it’s cooling.
Please ‘Google’ Fresh, natural food for cats and you’ll be horrified what goes into processed pellets.
I urge you to empower yourself by surfing the web so than you may make a knowledgeable and healthy choice for your pet.
Good luck
Glynne
