This concerned pet owner would like some advice on how to cure her dog of his separation anxiety.

Question:

Hi

I am battling with a dog who suffers from extreme separation anxiety, has all but moved the house to escape the property when we are not there in search of us, and am afraid he’ll do more damage than losing half his tail (broke it escaping through a fence). How do I reassure him ?

Thanks

Hi Marlies
You’ve given me absolutely no information about your dog at all. I don’t even know his age or what make he is!
Anyhow, for a start:
• Do not leave him in the garden, but rather leave him in your house where he will feel safer..
• Make sure he has a full tummy when you leave him and he will be able to sleep while you’re gone.
• Do leave him with a big, juicy raw bone to keep his mind off his troubles.
I suspect you may need specialist help to cure his separation anxiety if none of the above work
Thank you for your interest.
Glynne
