This owner has a dog who is suffering from a rash. The vet diagnosed it as mange, but nothing seems to be working and it keeps coming back. Could it be a diet deficiency?

Question:

Hi Glynne!

You have a very insightful website. I love dogs and the information I have gained from this site is wonderful. I have a problem with my Dachshund/Jack Russel. He is developing a sore around his eye, it looks more like rash. This comes and goes. He also gets a reddish rash under his body and he scratches it all the time. We visited the vet and she said its mange. we were given medication for him but it keeps coming back. I am really worried as to what can be the cause of this infection. I don’t like to see my baby look so helpless. Please help

Kind Regards
Sindy

Hi Sindy
I’m not a vet, but in my experience, the symptoms you describe could be the result of a diet deficiency.
Try adding large, raw, meaty, fatty beef knuckle bones to the little dog’s diet … and perhaps a little cooked liver, eggs, beef mince and a little flax oil. You may just find it boosts his auto-immune system, which could well be the source of the problem rash.
It’s all natural, so it can’t do any harm.
Thank you so much for your kind comments about my website - it’s always good to get feedback … especially when it’s so flattering!

Good luck with the little guy.
Glynne
