Hi, I have a female Chow Chow, she is 9 months old. She loves to clamp on and hold on our clothes, sometimes ripping them when one of us walks around. Especially when we come home, she always greets us with clamping onto our clothing, she doesn’t like to let go either. I have sprayed her with a water spray, she doesn’t like the water but it doesn’t solve the problem. She will let go for a short while, even if you walk with your hands by your side she will hold on and bite. She has never broken skin but I am afraid she might one day. She has done this since she was a young puppy. I have solved naughty behaviour (fighting with the other dogs etc.) with the water spray.

Hi,
I absolutely love animals and my dream in life has always been to work with animals. How can I train to do what you are doing?
Thanks so much for all your help to our four legged and feathered friends.
Brace yourself folks, ’tis the season to be itchy …. Flea time again! The warm, humid weather is here which is when winter woollies finally get packed away and the jumpers come out of the closet in full force…sharpening up their chompers in preparation for a hot, bumper season. Yes, time again when these little leapers dish out the cigars and rub their hands together in glee, because carpet loads of new babies are coming out of the woodwork and into the world en masse - all with one thing in mind … to eat as fast and as much of our pets as possible in order to keep their nurseries bulging.
I have a young African Grey parrot who constantly shakes her head. The vet put her on antibiotics, but she doesn’t have an ear infection. She’s always lying on her side and scratching her head and inside her ears with her claws and loves it. But the constant head-shaking - could this be a habit or dry skin or what? I feel sorry for her as she’s such a lovable bird and is starting to talk now. Continue Reading
What could we do to prevent our dog from accepting food from strangers? We have builders at the moment and I noticed them feeding our dog scraps through the gate?
Who has said, “We had a break-in last night and my dog tried to lick the burglars to death!”
Well my question is: isn’t that exactly what you taught him to do? Doesn’t he sleep outside… didn’t you encourage him to be friendly with workers… didn’t you yell at him to back off and stop hassling the meter reader, pool man or garden services workmen?! And if you answered yes to any of these questions, you have trained him to be 100% burglar friendly!
HI MY NAME IS MICHELLE, I HAVE A LABRADOR. HE IS THE MOST LOVING AND CARING DOG I HAVE EVER HAD. HE IS THE FATHER OF ALL MY ANIMALS, EVEN MY CAT BUT WHEN I GOT A ROTWEILLER HE CHANGED TOWARD MY CAT & STARTED CHASING MY CAT WITH MY ROTWEILLER. I HAVE HEARD THAT ROTTIES DON’T LIKE CATS.
As I’ve been flooded with queries this week regarding inappropriate house soiling, I have chosen my favourite question to answer, in the hope that it will help with your own messy problems. Poor toilet training, being caught short, anointing furniture, marking territory, submissive, excitable or involuntary elimination are not included in this special exposè devoted to a darned right dirty insult from your pooch, in other words, Pee-mail.
My Yorkie ( 2 jaar oud) moet elke dag ‘n pilletjie (Capstar) drink vir vlooie, aangesien dit ‘n probleem in ons area is. Kan u my dalk sê of die pilletjies nadelig is vir haar ? Sy word elke Saterdag gebad met shampoo vir die behandeling van vlooie maar dit is nie die oplossing vir haar vlooie nie. Enige ander voorstel ?
