Please help! My 1 yr old English Bulldog does not chew her food at all. We are now wetting her pellets and giving her a mushy meal split into 2 to prevent her from choking. Is it too late to teach her to chew and not gobble her food? Any advice will help please

Hi Sari
• Okay. Step one is to take a peek in her mouth and make sure she actually does have teeth?!.
• Step two is to check her bite perhaps she’s badly undershot which is common to her breed. If this is the case she will have difficulty chewing.
• Step three is to make sure she is not ravenous because very hungry dogs ‘hoover’ up their food without chewing as they can’t get it down fast enough.
• If this is so, rather feed her small, frequent, meals with huge, ,raw, meaty ,beef, knuckle bones in between and she will soon stabalise and eat like the lady which I’m sure she is.
You gotta smile.
