I am a vegetarian and a health-freak and would like my two new German Shepherd pups, which I’m getting next week, to be like wise. Please could you recommend a good brand of dog pellets which do not contain meat.

I have a 3 year old Labby called Kirby who is grossly overweight but it seems he’s always starving hungry. The other day he nearly died because he ate all the rubbish out of the bin including a polystyrene meat punnet, peach pips and a pile of raw, rotting potatoes which I’m sure were toxic. I think if I hadn’t stopped him in time he would have swallowed the broken marmalade jar as well which really scared me.
